The Pride of Rivers’ midfielder has reiterated the ambition of his side to beat their visitors from Uganda in the second tier competition.

Rivers United midfielder, Ayo Saka has disclosed that the Pride of Rivers are calm ahead of their Tuesday evening CAF Confederation Cup group stage tie against KCCA and that they are aware of the arduous task to either beat their Ugandan foes or bade the competition goodbye.

Saka switched over to the Port Harcourt side during the mid season and he has made instant impact with the team with four goals already from his midfield position and he hinted that Rivers United players are fired up ahead of the tie and that they are looking forward to an emphatic win to leapfrog their Tuesday foes on the table.

“We are not under pressure and we are not panicky at all. We know we must win and that is what we have prepared for. We have seen them play and they have watched us too but we have an edge over them because they were fortunate to win in Kampala because of our costly errors. We have perfected them and I don’t see them surviving in Port Harcourt,” Saka told Goal.

“We have a task before us. We want to gladden the hearts of our fans again who are not happy with our form in the league and we are doing everything to win this game for them and turn a corner in subsequent matches.”
