The centre-back looks likely to return to the Premier League as La Liga outfit Valencia cannot afford to sign him permanently after initially taking him on loan

Eliaquim Mangala could be set to return to Manchester City as Valencia will not pursue a permanent deal for the defender, according to Marca.

The 25-year-old defender was allowed to leave for La Liga on loan in August, but Los Che cannot afford the reported £30 million transfer fee demanded by Mangala's contract.

As a result, the France international may be in line to come back to the Premier League, having not played for City since Pep Guardiola took charge of the club.
