The first leg quarter-final FA Cup matches were played on Saturday, with only one match ending in a draw.

But at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, hosts Terengganu were held to a 1-1 draw by Sarawak. Federico Falcone opened the scoring in the 21st minute with his header, but the visitors equalised in the 53rd minute through Jong-Ho Lee, who pounced on a defensive error to slot the ball in.
The other East Malaysian side still in the competition, Sabah however were not as fortunate, losing 1-0 at the Likas Stadium to Negeri Sembilan. The only goal of the match came in the 26th minute, when Croatian attacker Marko Šimić slotted in a fumbled ball by the hosts' goalkeeper.

At the Darul Aman Stadium, Kedah thumped Premier League side PKNP FC 6-1, in what may end up as the only one out of the four ties to have been decided in the first leg. The Red Eagles' goals were scored by Fitri Omar (15'), G. Mugenthirran (OG 29'), Liridon Krasniqi (pen. 46'), Ken Ilso Larsen (48', 91') and Syafiq Ahmad (86'), while the visitors' consolation goal was scored by Khairul Asyraf Ramli (84').

The second leg matches will be played on April 21, except for the JDT-Pahang match, which will take place on April 23.
