Felda United continued their brilliant run in the league, moving up to fourth after hammering T-Team 5-1 at home thanks to their talismanic Brazilian striker Thiago Augusto. But in the second half, the Fighters' mid-season signings Thiago Augusto and Ifedayo Olesugun roared to life. The bottom-of-the-table battle between 11th-placed Melaka United and 12th Pulau Pinang ended in a 3-2 win to the visitors. 2016 Puskas Award winner Faiz Subri opened the scoring in the fifth minute, but Marko Simic equalised for the hosts through a penalty in the 35th minute. Philippines international Mark Hartmann gave the Panthers the lead again, scoring a stunning curler from outside the box in the 53rd minute. Just seven minutes later Pulau Pinang doubled their lead, and again Faiz was involved. His long range freekick from near the centre circle hit the crossbar, and striker Kumaahran Sathasivam was the first to pounce on the rebound, nodding the ball in past the already beaten goalkeeper. Simic pulled one back with one minute left, again from a penalty, but the Mousedeers could not find the equaliser. After the fulltime whistle, Melaka were on 12 points while Pulau Pinang were on nine.
