Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Instagram to share a bizarre post of himself with Jose Semedo.

The Portugal international is currently enjoying a well-earned break on the back of his efforts in 2016-17, which saw him land La Liga and Champions League titles before heading off to the Confederations Cup with his country.

He returned early from that competition to be with his newborn twins, and is now enjoying a spot of relaxation before pre-season training gets underway for 2017-18.

Part of that time has been spent with close friend Semedo, with Ronaldo showcasing to the world that the pair have been enjoying a dip in the pool together.

Ronaldo has known Semedo for over 20 years, with the pair having first met while part of the academy system at Sporting.

They regularly holiday together, while Semedo was among those in attendance at the Millennium Stadium as Ronaldo helped Real to see off Juventus in the 2017 Champions League final.

Madrid unhappy with Ronaldo silence

He told the Daily Mail of the pair’s friendship in January: “I see Ronaldo as a proper brother.

“We've grown up together. He doesn't think he would ever have reached the level he has, but believes it's down to our mentality not to give up on anything.”

Semedo has plenty of time on his hands at present after being released by Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in May.

He had spent six years with the Owls, with Ronaldo having vowed to catch the club in action as they pushed for promotion to the Premier League in 2016-17.
