Leicester City captain Wes Morgan has thrown his weight behind teammate and want-away winger Riyad Mahrez in the wake of rumours he wasn’t giving his best performance for the club.
The Algeria international who had earlier stated in May the wanted a new challenge elsewhere - with the Foxes rejecting a weak bid from AS Roma.
But the Englishman has said all that hasn't had an impact on the winger's performances and he's still playing at the highest level:
''Everyone knows about Riyad Mahrez. We`ve seen what a difference he can make,” Morgan told Leicester Mercury.
“He's got the key to unlocking defences. I think you can see on the pitch that he's not slacking.
“He's putting in a shift for the boys. He's a Leicester player and that`s all I can say.
“Whatever happens with a potential transfer, long may that continue to be the case when it comes to his attitude as after everything he's achieved with us I don't think there's anyone that would like this to sour those memories and his displays.”
