The Nigerian's goal was unable to save her side from defeat in Sweden's Women Cup quarter-final clash

Nigeria international Rita Chikwelu scored her first goal for Kristianstad as Kvarnsveden defeated them 6-5 on penalties in a Sweden Women Cup game on Saturday.

The Super Falcons midfielder, who signed for the Swedish's Damallsvenskan club in January, netted in the 44th minute to cancel out Malawian Tabita Chawinga's opener for Jonas Björkgren's ladies at the Ljungbergsplanen Stadium.

Aside Chikwelu, compatriot Ogonna Chukwudi lasted the entire duration of the match for the 2014 runners-up, only to crash out in a penalty shoot-out lottery.

Following their Cup exit, Elizabeth Gunnarsdottir's ladies will shift focus on their league campaign as they face Vittsjö in the opener on April 16, 2017.
