Rennes to complete Sarr’s move from Metz

Senegalese and Metz attacker Ismalia Sarr is close to securing a € 15 Million move to Rennes, according to reports in France.

Rennes are expected to announce the arrival of the attacker on a four-year deal from Metz.

According to Ouest-France, Sarr did not participate in the second training session conducted by Philippe Hinschberger on Tuesday afternoon and is said to be nearing his switch to Roazhon Park. 

The report suggests that negotiations between the two sides are at an advanced stage and that Sarr’s move is imminent as he is expected to team up with Rennes on Thursday in Carnac where he will also complete his medical.

In Carnac, under Christian Gourcuff, the 19-year-old will link up with compatriot Abdoulaye Diallo and will be expected to duplicate his impressive performances of last season which saw him notch five assists and five goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Grenats.

The Saint-Louis born was also reported to be in the wanted list of Premier League side Newcastle United.
