Remo Stars victory will boost our confidence, says Sunshine Stars’ Thomas Adeshina

Sunshine Stars ' Thomas Adeshina believes his side’s 1-0 victory against Remo Stars at the Akure Township Stadium will increase their winning mentality.

The forward’s 14th-minute strike made the difference for the hosts against their Shagamu-based opponents and he has expressed delight scoring to ease their relegation fears.

Adeshina further assured that they will work hard in the second round to finish their current top-flight campaign in the top three places on the league table.

“I feel very happy for my goal and not for it alone but the three points for Sunshine Stars,” Adeshina told Goal .

“We worked so hard as a team to get the victory and we appreciate the management and fans for standing by us.

“The victory has given us the confidence to win more in our subsequent matches. We still have an outstanding match with Enugu Rangers.

“For my goal, it happened thanks to the great efforts of my midfielders and I was glad to the right on time to put the ball beyond the goalkeeper.

"Though I have been scoring similar goals for the team but I never knew it will happen so quickly against Remo.

“Yes, we have been struggling but we believe strongly It will come to an end very soon and we hope to get out of the relegation zone in the second round.

"Everyone in the team has been working hard to see the team get over our poor start and hard times we found ourselves.

“We promise our team fans that we will come strongly in the second round and finish within the three places.”
