Remo Stars’ Awazie rues early goal in Sunshine Stars loss

The Sky Blue Stars attacker was left to lament their luck in the loss to the Owena Whales

Following their loss to Sunshine Stars, Ekene Awazie berates the manner in which Remo Stars conceded.

Thomas Adeshina header in the 13th minute condemned Fatai Osho’s men to a defeat in Akure. 

“Unfortunately we lost by a lone goal as we did put out best but I think we can do more,” Awazie told Goal .

“We've been doing this. We played to the expectation we set before the encounter.

“It is one of those days, we conceded early and coming back was a big problem. we didn't recover from the mistake we caused."

On whether the loss of former goalkeeper coach, Muhammed Perez affected their performance against the Owena Whales, the forward said: “We wanted to dedicate the win to him.

“We wanted to give him the points we were going to pick here and so we came out with our whole heart to play the game.

“It did less in affecting our performance, we were just unfortunate,” he concluded.
