Real Madrid Team News: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Leganes

Real Madrid travel to promoted side Leganes on Wednesday night for a local derby in the Primera Division.

Zinedine Zidane's side lead La Liga by two points from fierce rivals Barcelona and also have a game in hand after their fixture away to Celta Vigo was postponed in February.

Real beat Alaves 3-0 on Sunday to maintain their lead at the top of the table and will kick off against Leganes directly after Barcelona's match at home to Sevilla.

REAL MADRID INJURIES

Raphael Varane returned to action at the weekend, but lasted just 10 minutes before picking up another injury and the France defender is now set to be sidelined for a key month of action, missing games against Atletico, Barcelona and the double header versus Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

However, Zidane has no other major injury concerns for the game at Leganes.

REAL MADRID SUSPENSIONS

Casemiro returns from a one-match suspension, while Dani Carvajal and Cristiano Ronaldo are both just one booking away from a ban, which is a concern for Zidane as a yellow for either man on Wednesday would see them miss the derby against Atletico at the weekend.

REAL MADRID POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP

Zidane is set to rest Cristiano Ronaldo for the Liga game at Leganes on Wednesday night in order to keep the Portuguese forward fresh for the derby against Atletico at the weekend and also to avoid a possible suspension for the four-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Keylor vows to silence Madrid jeers

Keylor Navas should be back in goal after Kiko Casilla featured for Los Blancos against Alaves, while Sergio Ramos is set to return after he too was rested at the weekend.

James Rodriguez is in line for a start as well and Dani Carvajal is keen to play - despite the risk of a ban - because he is originally from Leganes.

And further forward, Alvaro Morata could come in for Karim Benzema to give the Frenchman a rest ahead of the derby.

LEGANES TEAM NEWS

Leganes made a strong start to the season, but the promoted side have struggled somewhat since and are now down in 17th place, just five points clear of the drop zone.

Since a vital victory at home to fellow strugglers Granada, the Madrid-based outfit have drawn their last three in La Liga (against Sevilla, Malaga and Real Sociedad), so they approach this match in decent form.

Robert Ibanez, Mamadou Kone and Omar Ramos are all out injured, while Erik Moran is suspended.
