The Scottish campaign has begun, with the first matchday of the League Cup underway. However, Rangers, along with Celtic, Aberdeen and St Johnstone, progress to the second round automatically due to their involvement in European competition.

Rangers start off with an early afternoon visit to Motherwell on Sunday August 6 before hosting Edinburgh sides Hibs and Hearts in consecutive weeks.

Their first clash with Glasgow rivals Celtic falls on September 23 at Ibrox, with Celtic hosting the return on December 30.
