Enugu Rangers’ midfielder, Chiamaka Madu has fully recovered from the malaria fever that prevented him from travelling with the Flying Antelopes to Makurdi for their tie with Lobi Stars but Etim Matthew who sustained a knee injury is still being monitored but won’t be available for Sunday’s duel with Shooting Stars.
Madu revealed in a brief chat that he is now hale and hearty and has taken part in most of the training sessions they have had ahead of the visit of the Oluyole Warriors whom he claimed have only come on tourists to Enugu.
“I am fine now. I couldn’t make the team to Makurdi because of illness but I have overcome it now and I am in best shape for Shooting Stars if I am needed on Sunday. We have lost to Lobi Stars and we must brace up to beat Shooting Stars and start another unbeaten sequence. Shooting Stars are no match to us and we must prove it on the pitch that we are better,” Madu told Goal.
A source within the camp of the league’s reigning champions however hinted that the nasty knee sustained by team captain, Etim Matthew was more serious than they anticipated and that the doctors are still battling very hard to ensure that he is back on his feet very soon.
Rangers are 12th on the league table with 35 points from 27 games.
