The Los Blancos legend achieved the milestone on Saturday, becoming the 12th-most capped player in the club's history

Sergio Ramos has made his 500th career Real Madrid appearance after he started in their La Liga clash against Osasuna on Saturday.

Barcelona fans have ridiculous expectations

The Real Madrid captain is now the 12th-most capped player in the club's history after being named in Zinedine Zidane's starting XI in Pamplona.

Ramos joined Los Blancos from Sevilla for €27 million in 2005 as Florentino Perez's first Spanish signing and has since become a mainstay in his side.

Famed for his combative spirit and ability to raise his game on the biggest occasions, several of the centre-back's biggest contributions have come up the other end of the pitch.

His stoppage-time equaliser against Atletico Madrid in the 2014 Champions League final - which Real went on to win - is the stuff of legend at the club, while he repeated that feat in the 2016 final against the same opponents.

Indeed, only Ferenc Puskas, Raul, Santillana, Alfredo Di Stefano and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored more goals for Real Madrid in finals than Ramos.

His all-time goal tally at the club stands at a remarkable 66 goals - 43 of them with his head - for a defender to add to his 35 assists, with the 30-year-old presently enjoying his most fruitful season with eight strikes to his name.

Ramos has won 13 trophies during his time in Madrid, including three La Liga titles and two Champions League titles, and is on course to add one of each to his collection at the end of the season.
