FC Ifeanyiubah head coach, Yaw Preko has insisted that the Anambra Warriors will not continue brooding after they ended their eight matches unbeaten run in Lagos in their 0-1 loss to MFM but that they will strive to start another streak against ABS whom they face on Wednesday in another league tie in Nnewi.
“We have never said we would remain unbeaten till the end of the season. The end of one marks the beginning of another sequence. It was painful to lose the way we did despite giving our best against MFM but we have put that behind us as we concentrate on our mid week tie against ABS where we are very hopeful that we are going to begin another unbeaten run,” Preko told Goal.
“It was fun to achieve the results we got in the last eight games before the defeat to MFM but we must brace ourselves up and start another unbeaten run against ABS. we will be more careful this time around so that the next unbeaten run we have will stay with us till the end of the season.”
The Ghanaian coach pointed out that he is delighted that his players have peaked at the right time after some wobbling during the first round of the league and that if they remain consistent they could contest for the league title.
The Anambra Warriors are fourth on the league table with 34 points from 22 games and are five points adrift of the league leaders, Plateau United who despite losing to Enyimba in Calabar last weekend still hold a two point advantage over second placed MFM.
