The Desert Warriors star says his side fought hard to secure maximum points over the Peace Boys at the Maiduguri Township Stadium on Sunday

El Kanemi Warriors' Olawale Isiaka has disclosed that his side fought hard to secure a 1-0 win over league leaders Plateau United in Maiduguri on Sunday.

It was Sunday Anthony's finish that ensured Ladan Bosso's men overcome the Peace Boys at the Maiduguri Township Stadium.

"We are so happy to win against Plateau United. It was a tough match," Isiaka told Goal.

"We know before the match that it will not be easy. No surprise, they gave us very difficult match but we won in the end.

"We had our chances but they really defended well. They have tall players which rely on long balls and throw-in to score their goals but we managed to curtail them.

"Plateau are very good and strong side but we worked hard to get the victory. Though it was late the three points were very important to us.

"We will stay focus and keep fighting to get more good results away. We hope to give our best and get something against Gombe United in our next game."
