East Bengal completed a double over Bengaluru FC as they downed the defending champions 3-1 at the Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore.

A brilliant goal from Wedson Anselme and a brace by Robin Singh was enough to earn three crucial points for the Trevor Morgan coached outfit.

With this win, The Red and Gold brigade are back at the summit of the I-League table with  24 points from 11 games.

Bengaluru FC are on the fifth position as they haven’t tasted a win in over a month since their 30 victory over Mumbai FC on January 18.

Parth Jindal, Bengaluru FC’s CEO, expressed his disappointment over the performance from his team and went on to apologise from the fans.
