Celta Vigo Skipper Hugo Mallo has praised the attitude of youngster Pape Cheikh Diop after both Lyon and Tottenham reported interest in the starlet.
The Senegalese signed a new deal with the Celts in February which runs until the summer of 2021 and contains a release clause of between €27.5m and €30m.
However, the Balaidos Stadium outfit might just be tempted to sell him after receiving €10m bids from both the English and French clubs with the player missing the La Liga clash against Real Sociedad last weekend sparking rumours of a transfer.
But despite being in the midst of huge speculation, Pape has maintained a professional attitude and his club captain is impressed with the maturity he has displayed for a player his age.
“The squad is not affected by this situation because in the end, Pape is training just as one of us, as the best,” Mallo told EFE
"It's strange to see a kid so young in that situation and he does not lose focus.
"Pape must be given an award because he is behaving like a veteran.
"If he leaves, we will be happy because he has decided what to do, and if he stays we will have one more and we will be much happier that he can continue here."
