Robert Matano led AFC Leopards failed to collect maximum points against Posta Rangers in their season's opener played at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru on Saturday.

Ingwe had gone ahead courtesy of former Western Stima man Brian Marita, before Danson Kago levelled matters before the break.

The Sammy Omollo led side missed a great opportunity to bag maximum points after Kennedy ‘Agogo’ Otieno failed to convert from the penalty spot in the second half.

'Pamzo' says the hosts were lucky to get a point from that match which was characterized by unmatched tension from the first to the final whistle.

"The spirit shown by my team was morale boosting; I was impressed by the new signings, they have settled in very well and their display was really good. It is our first match but the signs are good, that is if last weekend's display is anything to go by.

"Both teams had their chances but failed to capitalize on them, though I feel they (Leopards) were lucky to escape with a point. That penalty could have changed everything but we were quite unfortunate not to score, it could have been a game changer."

AFC Leopards will play Madagascan side Fosa Junior in the preliminaries of Caf Confederation Cup.
