The Buccaneers remain 10th on the PSL log after 16 league matches, and their new coach will have 13 games to try and turn their situation around

Orlando Pirates interim coach Augusto Palacios feels the Soweto giants are in a transition period following another league defeat at the hands of Bidvest Wits.

The Buccaneers are winless in their last seven league matches, but Palacios urged the fans not to forget their past successes.

“Every club goes through a transition,” Palacios told the media.

“It’s happening at Pirates now, but the people sometimes forget what this club has done in the past; to win the treble,” Palacios added.

Palacios added he will die for the club, before refuting reports that he is soft on his players.

“I hear people say that I am soft, maybe these people slept with me one day and saw that I am soft,” Palacios bemoaned.

“There are a lot of new players that need to be moulded into the team. I hear people say that Palacios should be fired. But I don’t want the job. I am doing this because my heart is in this team."

“I would die for this club. Any job that the chairman would give me, I would do it. The press in Peru say that the people (at Loftus Versfeld) were trying to kill me."

“This is the first time I have experienced something like this, but I need to be strong and soldier on,” Palacios said.
