Barcelona are still waiting on €105 million signing Ousmane Dembele to regain full fitness, but he is to return to the field with former club Rennes.
The France international made just three appearances for the La Liga giants before breaking down during a meeting with Getafe on September 16.
He was expected to be sidelined for up to four months, but has stepped up his recovery of late and is hoping to be back in contention by the time Barca take in a Clasico clash with Real Madrid on December 23.
Dembele will get to take to the field before then, though, with Rennes having announced that he will be a special guest of the club for their clash with Nantes on Saturday, with the 20-year-old set to take a ceremonial kick-off.

Dembele started his career with Rennes having emerged out of the club’s academy system.
He would spend just one season with the Ligue 1 outfit as a senior star, taking in 29 appearances during the 2015-16 campaign.
His efforts that year included a hat-trick against derby rivals Nantes, as he contributed 12 goals across all competitions.
Borussia Dortmund then took him to Germany, where he would take in another one-season stint before linking up with Barca in a big-money deal as a replacement for the departed Neymar.
