Former Gor Mahia keeper trainer Mathews Ottamax is currently working at promoted side Nakumatt.
The Shoppers were promoted to the country’s top league by the end of last season and they are definitely out to show what they are made of. They made some quality signings in January capturing, just to mention but a few, former AFC Leopards trio of Kepha Aswani, Eugene Ambulwa and Cresten Mwanzo.
Their technical bench has the Italian Giovani Troiani as the head coach and Fred Ambani as his assistant. Ottamax’ inclusion would be another addition of experience on the bench ahead of the league kick-off.
However, while confirming Ottamax’ presence, the club’s secretary Albert Wesonga says no talk has been initiated for any deal.
“Ottamax has been with us since he left Gor Mahia and we are very happy with his services but I can confirm that there has not been any talk between him and the club’s management for a possible hiring," he told Goal.
The former Harambee Stars trainer will be part of the team when they play against AFC Leopards in a friendly match slated for Saturday at Machakos Stadium.
