Goal spoke to the Zimbabwe international, who is looking to become the second Bucs player to win the PSL accolade

Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro remains hopeful of winning this season's PSL Golden Boot accolade.

The 29-year-old has led the way in the league scoring chart for the better part of the current campaign and he's currently on 12 goals.

However, Cape Town captain and striker Lebogang Manyama recently surpassed Ndoro after scoring his 13th goal.

With two matches league matches left, all eyes will be on Ndoro and Manyama as the race for the award intensifies.

"Yes, I am definitely hoping to win the accolade this season," Ndoro told Goal.

Bidvest Wits striker Frank Mhango and Polokwane City forward Rodney Ramagalela are tied for third place having netted nine goals each.

"But it won't be easy because everyone who is in the scoring chart wants to win this award," he continued.

"For me it depends on how much game time I am getting," the former Chicken Inn and Nico United forward added.

"It also depends on whether you take your chances when you are playing regularly," Ndoro stressed.

"But it also important for me to create chances for my teammates as it's a team effort," he concluded.

Ndoro, who has gone six league matches without scoring a goal, will be eager to regain his scoring form when Bucs face Ajax Cape Town at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

Lesley Manyathela remains the only Pirates player to have won the Golden Boot in the PSL era.

The award is named after Manyathela, who was killed in a car accident in August, 2003.
