The club confirmed that Gyimah handed in a transfer request at the start of the year

Orlando Pirates have announced that they have parted ways with Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah

According to the club, Gyimah requested to be released from his contract before he left for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon earlier this year.

The Soweto giants released a statement confirming Gyimah's departure on their official website on Thursday afternoon.

Orlando Pirates Football Club has parted ways with Edwin Gyimah .

The Club has agreed to release the player as per his request.

Gyimah had submitted a request in writing prior to his departure to the African Cup of Nations where he was to go on national duty with Ghana.

The Club has acceded to Mr Gyimah's request and wish him all of the best in his future endeavours

Gyimah, who joined the Buccaneers from SuperSport United over a year ago, made 38 appearances in all competitions under different coaches.
