Malaysia U22 head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee has dropped two men from the squad, following the team's return from their friendly match series in China on Friday.

Kim Swee told the press that the two men dropped from the squad are Felda United's Ali Imran Alimi and Negeri Sembilan's Kalaiharasan Letchumanan.

Ali had joined the team's centralised training camp since the initial June call-up, while Kalaiharasan arrived slightly later, as one of the replacements for the injured initial squad members.

Meanwhile, the injured squad members; Ahmad Khairil Anuar Zamri (Perak), Danial Ashraf Abdullah (Kelantan), Ariff Farhan Md Isa (Kedah) and Raphi Azizan Mariappen (PJ Rangers), left behind to recover from their injuries when the team left for China, will rejoin the team for training when it resumes this Sunday.

Kim Swee had earlier told the press that he will finalise the squad list, for the 2018 U23 AFC Championship qualifiers in July, after their next friendly match; against Melaka United on June 22.

The Young Tigers had been in China since June 8 for three friendly matches; which ended in a 1-0 defeat to China U22, a 2-2 draw against Guangzhou R&F and a 3-0 win over Guangzhou Evergrande.
