The Pride of Benue’s striker attributed their defeat to lack of concentration which he claimed the Chanji Boys capitalised on to get their goals early in the match, but expressed his conviction that they are going to bounce back when they tackle Remo Stars in Makurdi.
“It was a painful loss because it was a game we left for with high spirits. We played very well throughout the game but we have ourselves to blame for the costly mistakes we made that denied us the points. We played to get at least a point but it was not to be,” Okpotu told Goal.
“We must go back home and think of better ways to correct our mistakes before our next league tie with Remo Stars. I must also say that the officiating wasn’t 100 percent correct in Katsina because I got the equalising goal but was denied by the match officials.”
Katsina United moved to 12th on the league table with 38 points from 28 matches while Lobi slipped a place down to sixth with 42 points from same number of games.
