Fatai Amoo assures Enyimba coach, Gbenga Ogunbote of a great reception by ‘hospitable’ Shooting Stars fans but says he should expect a ‘cracker’ on the pitch.
Last season, after helping to turn around their bad patch, Ogunbote left the Oluyole Warriors to take on the People’s Elephants for the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League campaign.
And he leads his fourth-placed side to Ibadan to trade tackles with his former employers who are battling against relegation.
“He [Ogunbote] will get the best of receptions in Ibadan. He is loved by the people here,” Amoo told Goal .
“To me, he is a colleague, brother and a good coach. He's got no problem with the hospitable people here.
“But on the pitch of play it would be a cracker. Winning this match matters a lot to Shooting Stars.
“He [Ogunbote] helped the club last season and that's exactly what we are doing now.
“We got an important point at Remo Stars last week and we believe we can grab the maximum point against Enyimba to continue our fight against relegation,” he concluded.
Shooting Stars are 17th in the Nigerian topflight log after garnering 37 points from 30 games.
