The Ghana international is excited to begin life away from Germany following his latest club switch

Ghana defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is delighted to have completed a transfer to English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Wolves, on Tuesday, announced the acquisition of the right-back on a three-year contract from German second tier club Eintracht Braunschweig

The deal takes effect from July 1, as Nuno Espirito Santo's charges hope to improve on last season's 15th finish.

“For me, it was always a dream to play in England," Ofosu-Ayeh told his new club's official website.

“It’s crazy for me and it’s the first time for me that I’ve signed for a club that’s not in Germany.

“Now I’ve seen everything here, I know that it’s a very big club and a traditional club.

“I’m very happy that I have the chance to play here.

“I’m very excited about everything - the club, the fans and my teammates, so I’m ready for my journey here.”

In an injury-plagued campaign, Ofosu-Ayeh made 16 league appearances involving 14 starts for Braunschweig last season.

Born in Moers to a German mother and a Ghanaian father, the former VfR Aalen man is a full Ghana international, having featured in a friendly against Canada in 2015.
