Selangor have officially announced the signing of 32-year old striker Rufino Segovia del Burgo, as replacement for East Timorese midfielder Juliano Mineiro.

According to the club announcement, Mineiro had to be replaced as he had been facing fitness problems.

The Spaniard, a former Atletico Madrid player, made two appearances in La Liga, in 2006 and 2007. Ever since that, he has played for many teams in Spain, and he last played for Hong Kong's Kitchee SC in 2016.

When contacted by Goal, Selangor head coach Maniam Pachaiappan said that Liberian forward Forkey Doe, whose future at the club had been insecure earlier, will instead be retained. He will partner up with Rufino in front, Maniam told us in a text message.
