Free State Stars have confirmed the departure of Sammy Troughton after he only saw two games into the season.

His replacement is Belgian Luc Eymael, who joins on a two-year contract.

Troughton was set to be relieved of his duties after apparent clashes with management, over the signing of players.

Stars meanwhile felt it would have been difficult to get Troughton to work with Eymael as his assistant.

They felt it would have been hard to have two bulls in one kraal, hence the decision to axe Troughton.

Troughton only joined at the start of the season, and after losing his first game to AmaZulu, he managed a hard-fought 2-2 draw against the defending champions Bidvest Wits.

The straw that broke the camel's back was the loss to Usuthu, with the performance said to have left management extremely unpleasant, feeling they should have bagged all three points.
