Official: Anichebe ruled out for three months

Sunderland's Victor Anichebe has been ruled out of action for three months with a knee ligament damage sustained against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The former Everton man, who signed for the Black Cats at beginning of this term has been one of the stars of David Moyes’ team, was a 66th minute replacement for Adnan Januzaj at the Hawthorns.

Although he played on following treatment from medics, scans on the leg on Monday showed that the forward ruptured his medial ligament.
