The Umuahia side’s defender has stated the mood in the camp of the team ahead of their Sunday league tie with the Peace Boys.

Abia Warriors’ defender, Austin Obaroakpo has disclosed that the Umuahia side are not under pressure to perform as they host Plateau United in a league tie on Sunday.

The Umuahia side are yet to win a league game in the last three matches after their 4-0 home win over Enugu Rangers and Obaroakpo who is an integral member of the team informed that the players are relaxed and are in high spirits ahead of the Sunday tie.

“We are not under any pressure at all. We are fully concentrating on the league tie with Plateau United and are not bothered by the fact that they are on top of the league table. We are relaxed and are poised to inflict another defeat on them. We have trained very hard and have been told what we must do to beat them,” Obaroakpo told Goal.

“We have not done well in the last three games I terms of results but if you watched those games you will see that we played very well and deserved better than we got. We are facing Plateau United with expectation high that there won’t be a repeat of last season result and that we shall be going all out to claim the maximum points.”

Plateau United beat Abia Warriors 1-0 at the Umuahia Stadium last season and they also subdued same opponents 2-1 in Jos when the first leg of the encounter was played on January 29 this year.

The Peace Boys are on top of the league table with 45 points from 24 games while Abia Warriors are currently 12th on the league log with 32 points from 24 matches.
