Kelechi Nwakali returns to Arsenal, bids MVV Maastricht farewell

Nigeria’s Kelechi Nwakali has returned to Arsenal after spending the 2016-17 season on loan with Dutch side Maastricht.

The 19-year-old sent a farewell message to the coaching crew and fans of the club after an impressive season that saw the Ron Elsen’s men finish seventh with 59 points in the second tier of the Dutch league.

“I just want to say a big thank you to mvv maastricht players,coaches and fans,” Nwakali wrote Instagram.

“It was a good experience with them last season. I will miss everyone in the team.I also wish them well and good season ahead.@mvvmaastricht_official @mvvmaastrichtmedium @jupilerleague @bogeens @thomasverheydt @smylek1 @stevenpereira5 @alessandrociranni I love you all.”

Few hours later, Nwakali shared a picture of him with Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger to herald his arrival in the Emirates Stadium ahead of their pre-season training tour.
