Hearts of Oak coach Frank Elliot Nuttall says he is delighted with his side’s performance during their 2-1 victory over Sporting Mirren in the FA Cup round of 64 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The Scottish manager rested several first team players and handed the fringe players the opportunity to excel and they didn't disappointment.
Defender Anthony Nimo gave the Phobians the lead but the visitors equalised through captain Jewel Arthur, before Patrick Razak found the match-winner very late in the game.
“It was a cup game and the most important thing was to get through into the next round, so I will say I’m happy with the outcome of the results,” Nuttall said.
“But, I am more delighted with the work of the fringe players that came into the side. I think they did well because they haven’t played in the first team this season. So it wasn’t easy for them to come through but they did marvelously well,” he added.
Hearts will return to action in the Ghana Premier League with a trip to Tamale to face Bolga All Stars on Wednesday.
