MFM's Onuwa tips Odey to outshine Remo's Mbaoma in derby

Both strikers are tied on six goals and they go head-to-head in a derby but the Olukoya Boys’ midfielder has tipped his teammate to carry the day

Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC’s Chukwuka Onuwa tips Stephen Odey to outscore Remo Stars’ Victor Mbaoma in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League derby.

The strikers are the joint leading goalscorer in the topflight with six goals apiece.

And, although, Onuwa hailed both qualities as good finishers, he expects his teammate Odey to ‘score close to two goals’ against Mbaoma’s struggling Sky Blues Stars.

“Victor Mbaoma is a very good striker as well as Stephen Odey,” Onuwa told Goal.

“But today anyone can score; anyone with the most zeal to put the ball behind the goalkeeper will carry the day,” he continued

“And I feel the person [to carry the day] is going to be my teammate Stephen Odey. He will score close to two goals today.”
