Simba midfielder Haruna Niyonzima is close to making a return from an ankle injury Goal can exclusively reveal.

Niyonzima has not featured for Simba since November when he was forced off the pitch on a stretcher after twisting his ankle from a challenge by Lambant Sambyanka of Tanzania Prisons.

Speaking to Goal, Simba head coach Pierre Lechantre revealed that he is hopeful that the midfielder will be available before the end of the season to help his team to challenge for Ligi Kuu and CAF Confederation Cup.

“Niyonzima is one among the important player in my squad, we have a lot of important games ahead both locally and internationally, in this time is very nice for a coach to have a full squad,” said Lichantre.

Some reports suggest that Niyonzima will be available to feature against his former club (Yanga) in April 7 at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
