Niger Tornadoes declare Ajoku fit for Enyimba clash

Niger Tornadoes top scorer Chidebere Ajoku will be available for Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League match against Enyimba in Lokoja, an official has disclosed.

Ajoku who netted the Ikon Allah boys' winner against Remo Stars was replaced after he suffered a knock following a poor challenge at the Gateway International Stadium.

The former Heartland forward had scored four times in five matches this season and is facing fitness race for his side crucial encounter against the People’s Elephants on Sunday.

But team's medical officer, Yakubu Abdullahi says Ajoku is fit to play, stressing that there was nothing to worry about on his injury.

“We needed to take precaution, therefore we advised the technical crew to substitute Ajoku against Remo Stars,” Abdullahi told Goal.

“We considered the fact that we have crucial matches ahead, playing Enyimba in Week Eight and the leaders Plateau United in Week Nine.

“I can confirm that the team has no casualty on its injury list, meaning that every player was in good shape.”
