Gunners fans may be pinning their hopes on the Switzerland midfielder, but former Celtic boss Neil Lennon hasn't been too impressed

Arsenal fans have high hopes for Granit Xhaka but Neil Lennon reckons the Gunners just have an expensive Charlie Adam on their hands.

Arsene Wenger had already clinched a £30 million deal for the midfielder before Euro 2016 started, but the 23-year-old’s performances for Switzerland have already got Arsenal fans excited ahead of the new season.

But for Lennon, the former Celtic boss hasn’t been blown away by the midfielder's displays.

When asked for his thoughts on Xhaka, Lennon told BBC 5 Live: “Not that impressed.

“He's OK. He reminds me of Charlie Adam."
