Neto, Talisca and Willian Jose the new faces in Neymar-less Brazil squad

Coach Tite sprang a few surprises for the squad that will face Russia and Germany this month as the Brasil Global Tour returns to Europe

On Monday Brazil coach Tite named some new faces were included in his Brazil squad that will meet Russia and Germany this month.

In what was the coach’s final squad before settling on his 23-man group for this year’s World Cup, Valencia goalkeeper Neto, Besiktas star Anderson Talisca and Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose have joined the Selecao.

Full-backs Fagner and Filipe Luis also return to the squad, as Juventus’ Alex Sandro and Manchester City’s Danilo drop out.

Sao Paulo defender Rodrigo Caio and Germio’s Pedro Geromel have also re-joined the group as Monaco’s Jemerson misses out.

Flamengo's Diego, Fenerbahce midfielder Giuliano and Sport Recife forward Diego Souza have also been left out, with Shakhtar midfielder Fred returning.

Tite and his staff had elected to delay their announcement by ten days following the injury to Neymar as they awaited for an assessment on the physical condition of the PSG star and a number of other regulars including Marcelo, Casemiro and Fernandinho.

Of the 15 players Tite last month confirmed had already secured their places at this year’s World Cup in Russia, only Neymar was absent.

Neymar has undergone successful surgery on his broken foot and is now recovering in Brazil.

Brazil face Russia in Moscow on March 23 before facing Germany in Berlin on March 27.

Full-backs: Dani Alves (PSG), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Fagner (Corinthians).

Defenders: Pedro Geromel (Gremio), Marquinhos (PSG), Miranda (Inter Milan), Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo), Thiago Silva (PSG).

Midfielders: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Fred (Shakhtar), Paulinho (Barcelona), Coutinho (Barcelona), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Anderson Talisca (Besiktas), Willian (Chelsea).

Forwards: Douglas Costa (Juventus), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Taison (Shakhtar), Willian Jose (Real Sociedad).
