Nigeria international Moses Simon’s equaliser against Club Brugge has been named Gent’s goal of the month for April.

The Super Eagles forward brilliantly converted Samuel Kalu’s cross in the 25th minute to cancel out Wesley’s eighth minute opener at the Ghelamco Arena.

Simon later secured maximum points for Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s side after netting his brace from the penalty spot before the half time.

The Nigeria international who has found the back of the net five times in 29 games in the Belgian first division league, won the prestigious monthly award with 77 percent of votes on the club’s website.

Gent are placed third in the Belgian league title playoffs with 37 points, and will welcome Sporting Charleroi to the Ghelamco Arena on Sunday.
