Mathare United will miss the services of two players for the entire first leg of 2017

After losing more than five first team players in January, Kenyan Premier League side Mathare United will have to do without the services of two more; Edward Seda and Roy Syamba.

The duo have been deemed unavailable for the first half of the season due to injuries. ‘Slum Boys' team doctor Wycliffe Omom has been quoted by the team's official portal saying that the two are still under rehabilitation.

"Seda is in his second week of intensive rehabilitation and he is set to continue with the same program for seven weeks. After that he will start light training for four weeks then join the rest of the team towards the end of the first leg.

"Roy has had slow progress since he developed an infection on his knee after his surgery. We intend to do some scans on his knee before we can decide on the next course of action."

Mathare United, under the leadership of Coach Francis Kimanzi, signed 17 players during the January transfer window.
