More action as Governors Cup gathers pace

The ongoing Evans Kidero Cup pitting football teams from Nairobi County entered quarter-final stage with several matches played at ward levels.

It was at Riruta Stadium in Dagoretti South where Governer Kidero accompanied by other officials, graced the ward matches played before a capacity crowd. The theme of the tournament is to educate youth on dangers of alcholism, other vices and is sponsored by County Liquor board and organised on behalf of the County and Nairobi FKF Branch.

The governer before kick-off advised the players to shun drugs and engage in sporting activities. "We have scouts attending these matches and will select a Nairobi county combined team."

The County Government CES in charge of Sports Ann Lokidor added that the next edition in August will involve women teams.
