Mikel Agu unsatisfied with Bursaspor's draw on injury return

Though excited to be back in action, the Nigeria international who was out for seven weeks is disappointed as side shared points with Genclerbirligi

Mikel Agu is glad to have returned from the sidelines but he is not pleased with Bursaspor's 1-1 draw at home to Genclerbirligi in Saturday's Turkish Super Lig encounter.

The Nigeria international had been out since picking up a knee injury in a 2-2 draw at Kasimpasa on November 4. The midfielder missed seven matches including Nigeria's World Cup qualifier against Algeria and Argentina friendly.

The 24-year-old returned to action to make his 12th appearance this term in Saturday's stalemate at the Bursa Büyükşehir Belediye Stadium.

Titi's 65th-minute leveller courtesy of Joshua John's assist cancelled out Petar Skuletic's 52nd-minute opener to ensure the Green Crocodiles escape defeat.

And Agu, on a season-long loan from Porto, feels getting the victory would have crowned their outstanding performance in the encounter.

"It is wonderful for me to be back playing again. I feel very good after been out for sometimes," Agu told Goal.

"For me, it is like a normal situation and part of the game too for a player to be injured and this one is small compared to the previous ones I have had before.

"In the match, I think we really played very well, most especially in the first half. We dominated all through the game but that wasn't the result we wanted.

"I believe we will get back to winning in our next game and make the fans happy again. It will also be good we finish the first round - and 2017 - on a winning note."

Paul Le Guen's side are ninth in the Turkish top-flight log with 25 points from 17 games this season.
