Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa believes he has what it takes to play for the club next season.
"The only thing missing now is to play for the first team. That’s what is missing in my career. Having trained with the first team‚ I saw that I am ready. It’s not as difficult as I thought it would be,” Meyiwa told The Sowetan.
“I just need to work hard and be strong mentally to survive there. The coach (Steve Komphela) applauded me for going to the World Cup," he said.
“He told me to work hard in the World Cup because when I come back I will play. Those words motivated me to do well,” Meyiwa continued.
“He was given a chance. If you are given a chance‚ you must make the most of it.
“That’s all I ask for‚ a chance. I will do the rest. I know that if given a chance‚ I will make the most of it and prove that I belong here,” he added.
“Playing for Chiefs’ first team would make me so happy because I will be playing for a team that I grew up supporting‚” Meyiwa concluded.
