Mexicans Abroad Minute: Chicharito continues hot streak, Lozano's injury not serious

The West Ham United forward has scored in three of his last four league matches, while Chucky left Saturday's match but should be back soon

Chicharito was at it again this weekend.

The Mexico forward's hot streak continued with a 38th-minute goal in West Ham's 2-0 victory over Watford. He's now scored in three of his last four Premier League matches and after showing good chemistry with Marko Arnautovic may finally find minutes despite other Hammers attackers being fit. He continues to score and now is demonstrating to manager David Moyes how he can work with other players on the field.

There were fitness concerns for a pair of Mexico stars this week with Hirving Lozano leaving at halftime of PSV's win over Sparta and Andres Guardado making way in the final 10 minutes of Real Betis' victory over Deportivo La Coruna. Lozano's injury is nothing serious, according to both his club coach Phillip Cocu and Mexico national team manager Juan Carlos Osorio. Guardado said that his substitution wasn't because of injury, and he was back on the training ground Tuesday. It was there where he was photographed with an enormous bouquet, perhaps getting a special pre-Valentine's Day surprise from wife.

In Belgium, there were two Mexican players involved in the same match. Omar Govea was involved in a pair of Royal Excel Mouscron's goals but also was given a pair of yellow cards and was sent off in stoppage time. Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa had the last laugh as Standard Liege topped Mouscron for a 4-3 victory thanks to two late goals.

There was no debut for Hector Moreno, who arrived at Real Sociedad just before the transfer window closed. La Real suffered without him, losing 5-2 to Real Madrid and hinting that there may soon be changes in the defense that will include the Mexican center back.

Miguel Layun, who made a winter transfer as well, came in as a substitute for Sevilla as the La Liga side bounced back from a heavy defeat in Layun's debut to nab a 1-0 win over Girona.
