The Netherlands international replaced Mathieu Valbuena on 79 minutes as his new side ran out 3-1 winners against Marseille at Stade des Lumieres.

Valbuena had earlier opened the scoring for the hosts who then doubled their lead through Alexandre Lacazette.

Doria then grabbed one back for Marseille before Lacazette struck again to secure all three points.

Memphis took to social media after the game to reveal his delight at featuring for his new side.

"Proud to have made my debut for @OL! To enter the pitch in the clubs shirt felt so good, thanks for the warm welcome!" he wrote on Twitter.

The 22-year-old joined Lyon for an initial fee of £15 million although that could rise to £21.7m, after falling way down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.

Lyon stay fourth eight points behind Paris Saint-Germain in third, but do have a game in hand on the reigning French champions.
