The Australian winger abruptly walked off the set after becoming visibly overwhelmed during the live television interview

Melbourne Victory winger Mitch Austin has cut short a live interview after appearing to suffer a panic attack on air.

Presenter Georgie Tunny looked shocked when Austin got up and walked away during the ABC News interview after being asked a question about Victory's A-League grand final loss to Sydney FC last season.

It was later revealed by the ABC that Austin was okay after the incident.

The 26-year-old signed for Victory at the beginning of last season after impressing for the Central Coast Mariners during the 2015-16 A-League season.

He has scored three goals in 19 matches for Kevin Muscat's team.
