Medeama striker Ofori eyes more goals in Ghana Premier League

The Yellow and Mauve striker believes he can score 15 goals in the second round of the season following his hat-trick last weekend

Medeama striker Bernard Ofori has set sights on achieving a personal target of 19 goals this season in the Ghana Premier League.

The 25-year-old scored four goals in the first half of the season but sent signals of his readiness to achieve his aim in the second round by hitting a hat-trick against debutants Bolga All Stars last weekend.

“I scored only four goals in the first round of the season but I have set a target of scoring in all our home matches,” Ofori told Medeama FM.

“I’m targeting 15 goals in the second round to make it 19 goals in total and I thank God that I've started the second round with a hat-trick.

“The target is possible to achieve and I hope more goals will come with a little bit of hard work.

He added: "I am confident this year will be my year of breakthrough although, I have not seen or been told anything.

"I believe in God and I know he will take me to the promise land."

Ofori is just a goal behind topscorer Nicholas Gyan who has eight goals and he is expected to play a huge role as Medeama travel to face Elmina Sharks next weekend.
