Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe has been urged to use Manchester United’s Anthony Martial as an example of how difficult a big transfer can be to handle.
Former France international Youri Djorkaeff has seen his fellow countryman rise to prominence over recent months and, at just 18 years of age, Mbappe is suddenly one of the hottest properties in world football.
He has become the subject of intense speculation regarding big-money moves, with the likes of United and Real Madrid said to be closely monitoring his situation.
The temptation to make such a switch is obvious, but there are plenty of past deals that should serve as a warning to Mbappe.
Martial may be rediscovering his form at Old Trafford, but he has not had things easy since treading a similar path from Monaco to Manchester.
Djorkaeff hopes Mbappe will give careful consideration to his future plans, although he would like to see the youngster eventually end up at his former club Paris Saint-Germain.
The World Cup winner told Le Figaro: "If I were the PSG president, I would sign him, but I wouldn't be the only one in for him.
"He has tremendous potential, he must go to the club best suited for him.
"Look at Martial, when you go to a big club, you have to adapt and discover something else.
"Mbappe must pay attention to all of this."
The talented teenager is currently contracted to Monaco until 2019, having penned his first professional deal in March 2016.
