Mathare United want to beat Western Stima in a league match set for Saturday

Mathare United are keen on winning their upcoming Kenyan Premier League match against Western Stima in a bid to return to winning ways.

The ‘Slum Boys’ have suffered two consecutive defeats in their most recent matches but captain George ‘Wise’ Owino is optimistic that his colleagues will rise to the occasion on Saturday.

"The mood in camp is good despite losing two consecutive matches. The last time both of us won was against Gor Mahia so it's like we are starting on a neutral ground. We have been playing very well away from home and this gives confidence going into this game. We hope we can stop this losing streak," Owino told the club's website.

They are meeting a wounded side which has only won a single match in the season and stays at the bottom of the 18-team league table.
